The University of Bio Bio, Arauco company and Foundation Un Techo Para Chile launched on Friday June 19 Design Competition for Sustainable Social Housing in Madera (Visum), aimed at architects and students throughout Latin America in that sport sponsored professionals. The competition corresponded to one of 12 projects being carried out under the Convention on Public - Private Cooperation for the Development of the province of Arauco, signed on 8 June between the Regional Government of Bío Bío , Arauco and the Association of Municipalities Arauco 7. Part of this Convention is the flagship project directly related to the Contest live Arauco better, no camps, "which involves the construction of adequate housing and sustainable wood-intensive, for 1,412 families of the 33 camps in that province in Chile.
Through this contest, also intended to strengthen the identity logging and forestry in the province of Arauco, create new employment opportunities in the area and contribute to economic development and social integration of its highly commendable comunidades.Es this contest developed local level is open to architects from all over Latin America, relating a problem as universal as the social housing issues such as sustainability, energy saving.
